Navratri - The BohoJazz Edit
Navratri is, in its essence, a celebration of the divine feminine. A celebration of the victory of Durga over Mahishasurmardini, Each day of the festival is dedicated to honoring the nine different aspects of Shakti.
Interestingly, each of the nine days is also associated with a traditional Navratri color, symbolizing different qualities of the goddess to whom the day is dedicated. From fiery red evoking the spirit of Katyayani, to regal purple honoring Siddhidatri, who stands for perfection and completion, every color is invested with a special significance and, perhaps, an invitation to honor the divine feminine within our own selves.
That’s why, we at BohoJazz, thought we’d put together a Navratri festive fashion guide for you that’ll help you honor the spirit of the festival while reflecting your unique personality.
This year, we’re here to help you incorporate the beautiful colors of Navratri into your daily wardrobe with stylish ease. Our Navratri Festive Edit includes a range of everyday outfits for each day, with options in each of our signature styles - classic, contemporary, and fusion.
From timeless classics like elegant kurta sets to fusion pieces that seamlessly blend the contemporary with the traditional, the BohoJazz team is excited to help you create a look for each day that’s both festive and functional.

Day 1: Cheerful Yellow
Start the celebrations on an optimistic note by incorporating sunny yellow into your outfit for the first day of Navratri. The color honors Shailaputri - the daughter of the mountains - and symbolizes warmth and positivity.
Classic:
For a classic look, it’s best to keep it simple - think refined elegance.
That’s exactly the aesthetic this graceful yellow kurta set represents. Combining elegance and comfort, the flowing fit paired with a delicate lace-embroidered scalloped border make this a wardrobe must-have, while the airy chiffon dupatta manages to give the outfit a timeless feel.
Accessorize with a string of pearls to evoke old-world charm, or jazz it up with heels and silver jewelry; either way you’ll be dressed to impress.
Contemporary:
This Spring and Sunshine linen kurta pant set is all about sleek silhouettes and lines. A modern Navratri kurta set, its reverse flat placket V-neck with embroidered sequins makes the outfit both stylish and festive, while the straight cut pants and the addition of pockets (!) to the kurta make this the perfect outfit to celebrate without worrying about where you might have lost your phone! (Trust us, we’ve been there and it’s no fun).
You can choose to wear the outfit as a set, or mix ‘n’ match if you want a more contemporary feel. We’d vote for pairing the set with designer juttis to bring out the festive vibe.
Fusion:
Looking for a yellow Navratri outfit that combines sustainability with style? Your search ends with this sunny bohemian yellow dress in organic linen complemented with a vegetable-dyed handblock print jacket. Not only is it eco-friendly fashion, it’s also the perfect outfit for the days when you don’t have time to deck up for the festivities!
Complement with a statement necklace in oxidized silver and silver bracelets to add an ethnic twist to this fusion Navratri outfit and you’ll be all set for the day.
Day 2: Harmonious Green
Make a fresh start with green on the second day of the Navratri celebrations! The color is linked to the Bhramacharini and represents growth and harmony. Here are some signature green outfits from our collection that we’ve picked out for day two:
Classic:
This fabulous lime cordial kurta pant set brings to mind the sharp revitalizing tang of cold nimbu-paani on summer days. The fashionable neckline combined with the narrow lace panels, creates an aesthetic that’s as fresh as it is charming.
To bring out the ethnic elements, pair with pearl earrings or silver jhumkis and complete the look with a delicate pendant.
Contemporary:
If you’re looking for a more modern outfit for the second day of Navratri, may we humbly recommend this mint green co-ord set with a longline shirt and formal pants? This is a look that’s as sleek as it is stylish and just happens to be a favorite with Team BohoJazz!
Pair with a metallic clutch and heels to add some bling to this smart and sassy get-up.
Fusion:
Check out this chic green fitted formal top to add a touch of fusion flair to your Navratri ensemble. We’d recommend pairing it with these flared black linen cropped trousers for an all-day look. Add jhumkas and bangles for a fashionable fusion look.
Alternatively, tuck it into a lehenga with a complementary print to create a boho chic vibe. Mix ’n’ match with a colorful bag and statement jewelry!
Day 3: Refined Grey
The third day of Navratri is a tribute to Chandraghanta - the one who has a crescent moon on her brow. The married form of Parvati, she stands for balance and subtlety.
This is a day to channel inner peace and composure and what better way to start than by having your outfits reflect this zen state of mind?
Classic:
Keep it sophisticated with this simple yet formal kurta pant set. The mandarin collar and bracelet sleeves add a stylish touch, while the sheer embroidered panels exude restrained elegance.
Style with dangling silver earrings and juttis for a look that’s festive yet understated - staying true to the spirit of the day.
Contemporary:
Alternatively, seeing as it’s Saturday, if you’re stepping out to party then this flowy kaftan dress with a geometric print is just the thing.
The deep V-neck, drape cowl front, and an elaborately beaded leaf hasp add the perfect amount of glamour, while the geometric print keeps it chic.
Add some bling with a metallic clutch and heels to finish the look.
Fusion:
Want to strike the perfect balance between the traditional and modern? This ikat sheath dress in linen is a great way to go for those who’d like to add some fusion fashion to their Navratri style.
We love the marriage of the ikat print with the A-line skirt (and that bold pop of red!) but the real highlight of this outfit are the puffed sleeves which add a flirty feminine contrast to the otherwise severe lines of the dress.
Pair oxidized silver jewelry for that perfect boho-chic vibe.
Day 4: Warm Orange
This day is dedicated to Kushmanda - she who provides direction and energy to the sun. Channel warmth and energy by incorporating orange into your outfits for the fourth day of Navratri.
Classic:
This elegant kurta pants set is ideal for a Navratri look that’s both charming and restrained. The delicate hand-embroidered turquoise motif adds a touch of dainty while the tassels give it the perfect ethnic finish.
We chose to accessorize in silver but this outfit goes well with almost anything. Add a pair of diamond earrings and a bracelet, or just go with gold and turquoise studs - we guarantee you’ll be the picture of poise and grace.
Contemporary:
This gorgeous maxi dress with delicate orange-and-blue embroidery is our top choice for day four of Navratri. While it isn’t orange, this look works well for Navratri 2024 considering the blistering October heat wave we’re currently experiencing.
The flowy fit of the dress keeps you cool while the sheer bell-sleeves and the ruched empire waist add a bohemian accent, complemented by the hand-embroidered floral motif. All in all, it’s a design that embodies beauty and grace while also incorporating the color of the day.
Ethnic earrings and a cute clutch or potli in orange will ensure you’re all set for Navratri 2024.
Fusion:
Creating a fusion look isn’t always about going over the top, sometimes, it’s about just letting the outfit speak for itself, and this pretty summery embroidered A-line linen top is giving us everything we need.
The satin-stitch floral embroidery gives the top an ethnic feel, while the A-line cut gives it a fusion twist. Match with jeans, white trousers, palazzos, or harem pants - almost anything goes.
Silver or gold hoops with this top make the perfect fusion Navratri outfit.
Day 5: Serene White
Skandamata is honored on the fifth day of the festival. A goddess associated with purity, she stands for compassion and peace. This day is an occasion to invite these qualities into our lives and we’re here to help you channel that through your outfits:
Classic:
This stunning Sunehri embroidered kurta-pants set with a dupatta has our vote for the most graceful traditional white Navratri outfit in our collection.
The exquisite gold hand-embroidered motif, subtly embellished with sequins and pearls is the highlight of the look. A simple mul chanderi dupatta perfectly complements the intricate embroidery, elevating this outfit to a festive must-have.
Team it with statement jhumkas for a classic Navratri outfit that’s glamorous and graceful at once.
Contemporary:
Modern Navratri outfits are all the rage these days and this fashionably festive white three-piece set is the ideal way to add a contemporary accent to your Navratri fashion.
The flowing sleeve panels remind us of the drape of a kaftan but, when paired with the floral embroidery and matching pants, the combination is sheer elegance.
Shop the signature longtail top with pants here.
Fusion:
Check out this embroidered formal kurta pant set in fine linen if you’re looking for a fusion outfit for Navratri that works well throughout the day
The comfortable fit makes this white kurta set ultra practical while the stylish sleeves and intricate gold-on-white embroidered V-neck adds an edgy, modern vibe to the outfit.
Gold statement earrings and metallic gold heels or juttis will elevate this look to a festive fashion favorite.
Day 6: Passionate Red
Evoke the spirit of Katyayani by donning a red Navratri outfit on the sixth day of the celebrations. Red represents passion and strength, making it one of the most popular Navratri outfit colors:
Classic:
This bold red Nazm embroidered kurta with Banarsi pants and dupatta is a timeless Navratri outfit option.
The floral hand-embroidered motif is set off by gold embellishment, and the mul chanderi fabric creates a Navratri look that brings opulent elegance to mind.
Team it with statement gold jewelry for a vivacious and vibrant red Navratri outfit for the sixth day.
Contemporary:
This signature red ombre red kurta with white co-ords is the BohoJazz take on the modern Navratri outfit.
Featuring a sleeveless ombre red sheer kurta over a white co-ord set, this outfit stays true to the essence of the day while managing to be ultra-chic at the same time. The white embroidered motif on the side makes this a true style statement.
We think it’ll go well with heels and statement earrings but if you’re thinking more sleek, an elegant bracelet with hoops would also work well to create the perfect modern Navratri look.
Fusion:
For those searching for fusion outfit ideas for this Navratri, this red leheriya high-slit flared kurta with pants set might be exactly what you’re looking for.
The leheriya print pairs perfectly with the flared cut of the kurta and narrow pants to create a modern silhouette with an ethnic twist. Statement earrings and chunky bangles bring out the fusion feel for this red Navratri outfit.
Day 7: Royal Blue
Kalaratri - the one who is the death of time - is worshiped on the seventh day of Navratri by wearing blue on this day. Infuse her wisdom, grace, and prosperity into your Navratri outfit with these timeless looks curated by team BohoJazz.
Classic:
This Grace chanderi kurta pant with lace certainly lives up to its name.
This blue kurta set is the picture of restrained elegance, with the white lace panels adding a dainty touch to the rich mul chanderi fabric.
Style it with silver or pearls for a classic traditional blue Navratri outfit that exudes festive charm.
Contemporary:
A modern blue kurta set with embellishments is the way to go if you’re looking to keep it contemporary on day seven.
The mandarin collar and straight fit add sophistication, while the intricate embroidery keeps the outfit festive. Slip on heels and add a sleek clutch for a regal blue modern Navratri outfit.
Fusion:
Combine convenience with an ethnic touch with this blue hand block kurta. The look has a timeless bohemian vibe that makes it the ideal fusion Navratri outfit.
Ethnic jewelry and embellished footwear complete this look.
Day 8: Pretty in Pink
Celebrate Mahagauri - she who is the essence of love and beauty - on the eighth Navratri day by dressing in pink.
Classic:
This chanderi kurta pant set with lace is a great option for a classic pink Navratri outfit.
We love the marriage of the rich chanderi silk with the elaborate lace detailing along the collar and the cuffs. Pair it with pearls and a dupatta for a Navratri look that’s as traditional as it is refined.
Contemporary:
Modern meets festive with this pink signature maxi dress. We’re huge fans of the festive floral vibe and this dress captures the aesthetic beautifully.
The statement piece here is, of course, the sheer overdress with hand-embroidered floral motif and the best part? You can always switch it up by pairing the overdress with a kurta set or plain white co-ords and it’ll still work beautifully as a modern pink Navratri outfit.
Fusion:
A funky twist on the traditional, this hot-pink ombre kaftan with pants is a hot favorite!
The intricate embroidery teamed with an easy-breezy flowy cut leave you with a Navratri outfit that’s here to redefine fusion fashion.
Day 9: Regal Purple
Wear purple on the final day of the Navratri celebrations to pay tribute to Siddhidatri. Purple symbolizes ambition and royalty, making it the perfect color to wear before the Dussehra celebrations begin.
Classic:
Make a royal statement in purple with this mauve kurta set with matching salwar. Look closely and you’ll notice the sheer sleeves and the delicate ombre embroidered floral motif.
Add a strand of pearls for a classically elegant aesthetic or team with silver jewelry for a more traditional purple Navratri outfit.
Contemporary:
For those who prefer to explore a more contemporary style while staying close to ethnic sensibilities, think classic silhouettes with traditional textiles and embroidery.
We think this embroidered kurta set definitely fits the bill with its high-low hemline and beautiful hand-embroidered floral pattern.
Style with sleek silver jewelry for a truly modern Navratri outfit.
Fusion:
We saved the best for the last and this purple blouson top is definitely one of the highlights of our Navratri fusion festive collection!
Kimono sleeves paired with tassels and an intricate embroidered neckline give this top a unique bohemian twist. We also love how versatile it is - it pairs perfectly with lehengas, skirts, trousers, and jeans.
Finish with regal jewelry, bold bangles, and embroidered footwear for a Navratri outfit with bohemian flair.
